What I Want To Say
Im I wrong to think of myself as somthing unique, somthing differnt from all the wodden dolls of society
To believe that somthings just plainly arent wrong
To speak with what I find passion for
Why do you stare at me with such dissapointed eyes, speak to me as if I brought upon you harm
Im I really so wrong to do what I do, say what I say
Is it bad that im different from the other girls, that I dont walk the same footsteps they do, sing the same notes
Or do I need to think like you do, walk and talk like you do
Should I just become like everyone else, falling for the belief that the past generation should decide the fate of the future generation, their choices, thoughts
Should I stick with the dementing thought that gender roles cant be the same
Im sorry Im not your spitting image or perfect child, that Im not turning out to be what you wanted
Im sorry that you dont see who I am, to be fit to you beliefs or customs
But I want to pave my own path, carve my own mind, not let the world drag me down to sterotypes and delusions
I can be powerful and graceful, feroicous and gentle
Just because you believe that Im a demon if I dont awe in the sight of animals, doesnt make me one
Just because you belive that im a female, I should fear the sight of guns, veiw them as deadly and dangerous
I dont need you thoughts of who I should be, control what I become
Im sorry;
I will never make you proud
