Favorite Quote:
“Time your Grace of all losses , Time is the most irrecoubole for it can never be redeemed.” King Henry VIII

I raised my voice and she was offended
She raised her voice and I panicked
We argued for hours, my heart was in shatters
She kicked me out…
I let all the pain out
Never again to sit in the ear piercing silence
Holding my tongue till it bled
I finally stood up, and let my voice shout
I was no longer a child that could be ignored and described as too “sensitive”
She was FORCED!!
In that moment…
to acknowledge my existence

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem after having a conversation with a homophobic family member. I am queer, and I was struggling interally listeing to the offensive and hurtful things they said and did. At first they were ignoring the things I repeatedly told them, until I finally made them listen. I hope people take away from this poem that they each have their own voice and to no underestimate the power that voice has.
