Caught By Surprise
I keep thinking of the clock
Counting down time
Waiting for them to come home
And finding me writing in the dark
I'm scared of getting in trouble
I don't wanna be found out
They don't like me writing me heart
Our what I think down
I keep hearing the ticking
Ringing through my ears
Every second turns into a minute
And then they will be here
I am cheating my hours
And my sleep
I need more time to play
And I need for time to think
Throw my soul on paper
And splash images with the ink
Until I finally write this in time
Before they arrive
Then catch me by surprise

I literally wrote this poem on my toes, waiting for my writing time to run out...
