Childhood Fears
From Hot as Fire
To Cold as Ice
Your body aches all through the night
Something hides under your bed
In your closet eyes glow red
A tree taps on a window pane
So much you seem to go insane
Through the night you try to rest
As your body tries its best
To put you out it must suppress
The pounding felt within your chest
It’s most impressive I do declare
How Childhood Fears begin to tear
And just as it takes its toll
Mother arrives to soothe your soul
“Don’t worry dear it’s just the wind”
She seems to make the terrors end
As you age they go away
Those Childhood Fears weren’t here to stay
