Deep blue waters--a canvas, captures voyagers.
Rough edged rocks and shoals restrain mariners from uniting with the harbor.
The solution: A lighthouse.

Four hundred and fifty feet of stones gathered, formed.
After twenty years of construction, rising over the city of Alexandria, the structure stood still.
The outcome: A lighthouse.

The landmark grasps each sailor into its hands, guiding him through the darkness.
Poseidon, the God of the Sea, peers over the crowd--keeping each figure safe.
The satisfaction: A lighthouse.

The terrain tremors...pieces of Pharos plummet to the floor.
An earthquake--the enemy of this superior structure.
The victim: A lighthouse.

Blocks of limestone submerge, resting on the floor of the Nile River.
After one thousand five hundred years, a worldwide wonder vanished. 
The history: A lighthouse.
