Hummingbird
Such a hummingbird,
Scooting from place to place.
We share recognition,
We had exposure.
That's what life is,
Is it not?
Yet now,
You have faded,
Deliberately becoming feral.
Did I let go too simply?
Possibly too hastily?
But I feel your heartbeat.
Are you around?
Can you see me?
Can you see me noticing you?
We were young souls,
Ignorant about what was to come.
This is more complex
Than I personally care to
Proclaim.
Focused on what you felt,
You ran away.
You ruined me.
But you're still so near.
Why do you evade me so?
How can you possibly be
What you habitually are?
Such a hummingbird,
Scooting from place to place.
