Beautiful World
There was a time
When flowers grew
Into crowns.
And the people
Who wore black,
Switched to colors
Of all sorts.
But bombs were dropped
On places unknown
And people were slaughtered
For being their own.
When people of all sorts
Were welcome in most Churches.
Parades and pictures
Were shared worldwide.
Old folks would say,
“Oh look at the time.
Oh, look at the shame.”
They spoke about us,
As we may speak of you.
Walls wanted to be built,
People were scared for their lives.
But, oh, with such horror,
It was a beautiful
World of mine.
