"Speak from your heart and never compromise what you feel is real"

One
When your mind is drunk
on the idea that the only thing that won’t leave you is loneliness,
love will carry you home and hold your hair back
until the white porcelain bowl is filled with all the poison that possessed your thoughts
and love will watch over you until loneliness leaves.
Two
Love will learn every part of you,
every organ, every pore, every inch of the skin in which you exist in
until love can write a poem to perfectly explain your anatomy,
until love can blindfoldedly stitch back together your broken heart.
Three
When it’s pouring a little harder than normal and you’re eyes start to imitate the rain
Love will lift your grey clouds and tell you
that the only reason why the raindrops aren’t afraid of falling
is because they’re falling together
and that rainy days were never meant to be spent alone.
Four
During the last hours of the night,
Love will see your scars of sins
and love will smile and soothe them away
until you can hug a mirror again.
Five
Love will find a way to you,
but sometimes life is a bad GPS
and love gets lost in someone else’s arms.
But love will find you,
just like you will find love.

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem because many people become discouraged to love especially after a heartbreak but I think love is the best human experience out there and even if it doesn't last, it still creates such a pure happiness and that is what makes life worth living.

I really enjoy your last line, "life is a bad GPS and love gets lost in someone else's arms"

I am no master, I know nothing.

I love your metaphor "eyes start to imitate the rain" because it's a clear creative way to show sadness and tears. I can picture it well. This whole poem is beautiful.
