your skin,
stretched over your nose,
your high cheekbones
and shallow eye sockets
your lips,
stretched thin,
turned pale over the years
lipstick (lip gloss, tinted lip balm
called “rock star”)
you said
it’s young person’s make-up
your hair,
brittle and gray
smelling of
green apples and coconut
(drugstore shampoo)
your voice,
flat,
cold,
I’m not sure
how you got to be like this
and I don’t really
want to know
