2:39 p.m.
There are golden fish falling from the
sky. Some people try to cat-
ch them.
But these fish are plummeting to the
Earth at 213 mph. They could – and
have – killed a man (many in fact).
New York is now the “city of gold.”
I heard of an inci-
dent like this a few years
back, before I moved here. It was
raining silver-coated dragonflies. The
aftermath was totaled cars and totaled people.
3:02 p.m.
A fish just fell through my window because
the rain was angled just so.
I put it in some water.

In this piece, I aimed to contrast the orderly structure of the specific dates and times given with the irregularity and whimsicality of the content. I hope others appreciate the wit and oddity of this poem as a nonsymbolic, but simply eccentric piece.
