A picture
I found a picture, not just any picture, but one of my uncle right before he passed away.
The picture was of my uncle laughing with some of his friends.
I miss his laugh.
His sense of humor never failed to make me laugh.
My uncle was one of my favorite people I’ve ever known.
He understood not only what people want, but how they felt.
Saying that I miss him is an understatement.
My uncle was a veteran, he was in the air force.
I remember the huge bouquet of red, white, and blue flowers that my grandma put on his casket.
He was my hero.
Unfortunately, sometimes, heroes have heart attacks.
If a picture tells 1,000 words,
then this one means even more.
It says that he was a very funny person and was admired my many.
He never had kids, but he was great with them.
Sometimes I think to myself,
That if he never smoked his first cigarette,
That if he understood how bad smoking was,
Then maybe he would still be with us.
He would be here to tell me how bad cigarettes are.
He would be here to help deal with family issues.
He would just be here.
