The gates, the barbed wire fencing stand,
the towers that watch your every move.
An iron authority and this gray monument, common sense resists the cold hardening weather.
Fears of brittle hands, and the slow corrosion of their minds.
The loss of human power, experienced and slow, the loss of years behind the gates.
The gradual decay of dignity in which men lived upon these boundaries.
