Ghosts don't haunt us. That's not how it works. They're present among us because we won't let go of them. - Sue Grafton

What is Blue?

Blue is a cup of sadness, filled to the brim; overflowing

Blue is the night sky, darkness so far that the eye cannot see

Blue is depression on a long night, happiness so far that the dawn seems like a distant memory in mind.

Blue is heartbreak so mean, so vicious that you'll never be the same again

Blue is the color of my eyes, tears brimming on the edge, waiting to fall.

Blue is gentle, warm rain on a icy winter's night

Blue is the rain that washed away my tears on a fateful morning

Blue is the color of my dreams, washing away on the ocean of my mind.

Blue is the false hope that was given to the hopeful dreamer, the dreamer waiting for their dreams to come true

Blue is of deep unadulterated sadness, sadness that cripples even the mightiest of beings

What is Grey?

Grey is the smoke of dreams, floating away on the wind; drifting in all directions

Grey is the color of the stormy sky, waiting for the rain to fall; thunder roaring into the sky

Grey is a ghost after death, waiting for eternity to be free of it's earthly confines.

Grey is false dreams given to the wishful thinker

Grey is the color of the dirt when the casket is put down; the onlookers tears blue.

Grey is of hope that has been given up

Blue is of a long forgotten hope, hope that has been buried deep beneath the surface

Grey is the color of the faithless

Blue is the tears of the faithless when the long peaceful faith is gone.
