I could see the ocean,
I could smell the salt water,
I could hear the seagulls singing in the sky.
I was applying sunscreen,
melted down, oily white sunscreen.
I sprinted towards the ocean,
tumbling over waves.
“Ahh, I admire the ocean so much!!”
The waves were pounding on the rocks,
foam attaching to the shore,
stingrays and jellyfish drifting with the current
SCREAMS
WHISTLES
YELPING
My mind was racing,
what’s happening?
I sprinted out of the water,
looking out at the horizon,
there it was.
A fin.
Looking dark and slippery like oil,
peering out at the surface.
“A SHARK!”
Everyone was going insane.
People frantically sprinting out of the ocean,
water spraying everywhere,
screams all around me.
We stood silent with our families,
finding out,
it was a dolphin.
I was relieved.
What if it was a shark? What would we do?
My mind settled,
my body unfroze,
I was pleased it was nothing more than,
a big, slippery, livid,
