Traveler
I tried to walk across the sea
To get closer to my heart.
But storms drew nigh and rained on me,
Drowning me from the start.
So I bought a plane and flew the sky,
Traveling to my love.
But soon I was lost and couldn't fly,
Like the clipped wings of a dove.
But I bought a boat and set off again,
Along the ocean blue.
And still, the waves rose higher then,
Keeping me from you.
So in the end, I walked alone,
And came to terms with a broken heart.
And to my surprise, when I came home,
You had been there from the start.
