I deal in words
That fly from me like birds
In spring like herds
Of sheep
They haunt me in my sleep
And seep
Into my dreams
The reams
Of paper are part of me
As you can see
It's meant to be
That words flow through my veins
No pain no gain
I can't refrain
From creating
Worlds of my own and translating
My feelings to words while berating
Myself for choosing to do it
Seeing life as a tool kit
Always searching for words that fit
It's hard to commit
To this life, I will split
I sometimes want to quit
But still want to transmit
The ideas I believe in
Refusing to give in
Determined to win
I have always been
A vessel for something greater
Merely a translator
For ideas that come to me
I don't know where from, you see
I cannot be
Without words.
