Imagination
Imagination is
Sparkling rainbows, cardboard boxes,
Fluffy unicorns and talking foxes.
Creativity and innovation,
A way to escape.
But not to me.
To me, imagination
causes fears and limitations.
Unneeded hesitations.
I fear of not being the best,
All the time. Every time. Anytime.
I fear oblivion, but not from death;
But from normalcy.
I’m always scared of failing;
myself, others, and
my self-imagined beliefs
of others' expectations
of me.
But it can’t be helped;
It’s all in my head.
And so I walk on,
still burdened with my
over-imaginative mind.
