She's peaceful and soft to the touch;

She changes hearts and souls everyday.

She gathers people of faith all in a bunch;

She makes sure people go the right way.

But one day, the devil came to take her

And God was very upset.

The Devil had to lur

His now pet.

Now people did not know what to do,

Their precious angel gone forever.

For people lost their way and flew,

And they continued their sinful lives doing whatever.

God now angry fought for the angels return,

And the Devil created war.

God won the battle and was stern

If the Devil were to ever steal again, God would become thor.

The people returned and celebrated the angels win,

For their mentor was safe thanks to God.

But the people did not realize that God freed the angel fron sin,

And won back the followers of faith like a lightening rod.

But the angel soon died from complications of hell,

And everyone was sad but they stayed with their Lord.

And no one noticed that I fell,

Because the angel died that I so much adored.

For the girl I called my daughter,

Had died and no one noticed I was sad.

I tried to say my side on the water,

But no one cared about me her only dad.

Everyone stayed on their side of the water; avoiding me,

But I noticed one person never left my side.

God will always open his heart and see,

That one of his children was hurt and cried.

He put his arm around me to comfort,

And I knew that everything was going to be alright.

My sweet angel was just in a peaceful slumber,

And she will always be my light.

She was caring and kind.

She never had a bad word to say.

She always kept in mind

That her time would come one day.

My daughter fought cancer but lost her battle against death,

And God helped me make sure she was safe.

As God placed his hand in my daughter's, she took her last breath.

For my daughter would always have a father and she will never be a waif.

God is good,

And he is true.

You should always

Love him too.

My daughter is asleep,

And that makes me calm.

For God will forever keep

Her in his palm.

The author's comments:

Unfortunately, I have experienced a lot of deaths in my life. I am only fifteen years old and for such a young age, I have had to grow up quickly due to these many deaths. I was inspired by this piece when I was reading an article. A father, a widower, had lost his daughter to cancer. He had a small family and whenever he would ask for help in his grieving process, people would ignore him because he was very distraught. But he knew that God would stay on his side. So this piece is dedicated to him and his story.
