A Father Is Not A Dad
A fathers not a dad;
who gives his daughter hugs,
takes her to the park,
rids her room of the monsters in the dark.
A father is not a dad;
who helps with homework,
or gives kisses and presents on birthdays,
not a call or even a text ever seems to come next.
A fathers not a dad;
who supports me in life,
who comes to my shows,
who knows who his daughter has become as a person.
A fathers not a dad;
who listens to my cries
who points out clouds in the skies
A fathers not a dad;
who his daughter has ever seen or met,
who his daughter can ever love,
A fathers not a dad.

Having kids dosnt make a man a dad, it makes him a father. A dad stands by his kids, supports them, and helps guide them through the world. A father is simply a man who kids. My biggest inspiration for this poem comes from my own life-it contains my thoughts, emotions, and feelings. It took some time to realize but not everyone in this world gets to have a dad-like me-some of us only get a father. Although some of us have a father,we have to be greatful, because even though the man in our lives is suppose to be a dad without him we wouldnt even be here expiercing life.So when you think about it you have recieved a great gift...life.
