-James Joyce

Frozen, Unshattered,
This cold winter breeze,
Sings of longing.

The wind carries,
Distant sounds,
From places near.

Nostalgia’s harmony,
Heart breaking wind.
From the north, my light,

I look up,
A perfection,
Unattainable perfection.

I look up,
Such finesse,
My heart’s desire.

Brittle envy,
Why have you grown?
Do you know not of my sadness?

Rejected opacity,
I cry for you.
My agony’s crescendo.

My voice now dry,
My ambition frozen,
I have become the wind.

A cold wind that carries on the weight of sadness and envy. An expression confined yet free. Enjoy
