i write because
i want to feel time
grasp its shapeless form
to press it like flowers
between words
so that each fleeting
passion is caught
so that each heartbreak is fresh
and the anguish still overwhelming
i write because i want to feel time
grab it by the throat
so maybe it will pause for a moment or two
to capture the life in your eyes
and stare at them just a bit longer
They set my soul on fire.
