What happens to a dream forced?
Does it blossom
like a tree with water?
Or stain like ink--
From a spilled blotter?
Does it freeze like fallen snow?
Or bud through the filth--
like a lilac trying to grow?
Maybe it brings tears
like a broken toy
Or is it just a decoy?
