Closer
Closer.
His mother always told him to follow his dreams.
He followed her home.
Her captivating looks drew him in like predators carrying treats.
The way her auburn tresses whipped around her shoulders,
almost as if it was wind whisking through the air.
Her middle part laying perfectly.
The angelic cherry stained lips shaping the exquisite smirk.
Speckled brown freckles sprawled across her nose like a hidden maze.
Her face.
A puzzle with all the right pieces.
Her faint eucalyptus fragrance wafting through the air making him creep a little closer.
Crisp Autumn leaves dying beneath his feet.
Continually counting his steps.
His OCD captivating his body.
Consuming his mind.
Clockwork.
Left.
Right.
Left.
RIght...
The closer he got,
the more prominent the itchy, wet sensation under his arms.
His feet dragging towards the little blue house with the chipped white paint.
Reaching the end of the street,
his mind screamed no but his body moved closer.
Left.
Right.
Left.
Right...
Blood rising.
Fingers tingling.
He’s close.
