Shadows
Shadows, shadows everywhere but I’m not in the dark
They’re inside flecks of eyes and tongues when people talk
They live not in the darkest corners but in the brightest light
For shadows aren’t what they appear they’re sneaky and they’re slight
But do not fear there’s angels here and they are tall and bright
They sing their hymns and say their prayers and dance all through the night
They’re purest in their temples and their churches through and through
But maybe we should fear for what if our angels are shadows too.
