Favorite Quote:
children aren't coloring books. you don't get to fill them in with your favorite colors.

fear controls my life
everyday something freaks me out
it's not easy to go about your day
when something is always standing in your way
you're not sure what to do
something triggered a negative thought
frick
I can't think
I can't breathe
I can't move
the fear seizes me from inside my mind
all because I let it
I can't handle it cause I'm already sweating
this is not Armageddon
this is the day of a life
of a person who has OCD
don't move my pens! don't touch them!
warm colors can't touch! cool colors can't touch!
can you hold my quarters? why?
I don't want to touch the metal, it's gross. freak.
move that caterpillar! why? because it will sting me!
why can't you turn off this light first? because that's not how it works, that's how I do it
are you sure this isn't all in your head?
I can't stop scratching my head
it's so itchy
will I ever be the same?
how do I have so many friends when I'm so negative?
how does God choose who gets what traits?
why do I have this?
why can't I get rid of this?
I want to forget everything now
it doesn't work like that
bs
if I can't control what's in my mind, how can you tell me what to control?

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem for a project in my health class about emotions, and we had to choose one emotion to write about- and I chose fear. what I hope others get out of this is- having OCD isn't a simple mental disease. there are many different elements to it, and this is only one opinion of it. and this is my view. so please understand this illness before you make assumptions.
