On the night of graduation,
The young mind wanted to go out
He knew it would be dangerous
His mom would shout
“Don’t be out to late
Do not come home drunk”
I won’t mom
I am not that stupid he said.

But little did she know,
Her son wouldn’t be the drunk driver
She thought everything would be alright
I mean he was a striver
Straight A’s in school,
And colleges knocking down his door
But he needed more,
He wanted everyone to adore…him
The fact that he is perfect,
He wanted nothing to be unsaid
But On the way to the party his girlfriend said
WATCH OUT AHEAD.

Then came the screaming and squealing,
The smashing and crashing
The sound of the ambulance rushing by
Didn’t stop the party
What stopped the party was
That they were out of beer
Once the drivers didn’t come back,
The partygoers were worried.
They thought they were caught by the police
They didn’t worry about the two drunk drivers or
The two teens that failed to catch their last breath.

All of the teens were worried about the party
And weather not to drive home,
Or to wait for more beer,
On the phone
One could hear booming and laughter
On the phone
The other could hear thrashing and crying
The driver said I killed two students….. What?
His voice went into a whimper,
And again I killed two students
Once the party goers heard that,
They knew who it was
The only two that didn’t come,
Were the innocent ones
The ones that were sober,
Didn’t get wasted,
Didn’t get to where they were going
Didn’t finish their summer or their lives
But you know who did, yeah the drunk ones.

But they didn’t live a perfect life,
They lived a life in guilt
Knowing that they killed
Two perfect students
That never finished their life,
They lived in guilt of the mother
That didn’t want her son to go out
And definitely didn’t want to hear
“I am not that stupid mom”
