A Very Porpoise Poem

In a time that was weird, crazed and somewhat fancy-free
lived a porpoise in a land called "Absurdity."
His name was Jamarkus, but with this came shame, so he left on a journey
a quest to change his name.
You may think it ends there but no, not quite yet
for later he meets a blonde girl named Georgette.
And she's the demented love-child of Joe Biden and Michelle Bachman, but I can't think of anything that rhymes with Bachman.
Walkman?
Georgette wasn't the only one he met on his way
in fact, he met someone new every day!
Nicholas Cage, Jake from Statefarm, Vladamir Putin, Superman
The Riddler, Ellen DeGeneres, even "I'm Batman."
With Georgette by his side
each day they would ride
across dimensions
across worlds
through portals
and hurls.
But, changing plans along the way Georgette tried to save the day.
Because what Jamarkus couldn't see was that he wasn't chained down,
he believed people hated him and that's why he frowned
upon staying in Absurdity, it was like they were making him drown.
But Georgette saw the reality and knew it wasn't this way.
So she tried to change his mind every single day.
But he never believed her,
for he was determined,
to do what he pleased,
and release this harsh burden.
He just had to show her
his life wasn't how it seemed or appeared
he lived in such a way that he would always be feared.
"They avoided me," he told her, "how can't you see,
"That the thing I've been looking for is me. It's just me.
"I'm not looking for love or a place to fit in, I just want to be happy. That's how I will win.
"That's how I survive, that's how I will grow."
"That's not what I'm saying," Georgette responded. "I know.
"I know how it feels to be down in the dumps. I know what it's like to feel like a lump. To be nothing, like air, but be screaming and yelping."
"You know," Jamarkus spoke, "you're not really helping."
After that, they went separate ways, but fear not, they were back together within several days.
They worked together,
played games,
and eventually found a business called "The Place You Can Go Change Your Name Once You Finally Get Tired of Being Called Other Names."
"This is it," he told her, with a tear in his eye.
"It's okay. I know you have to. I'll try not to cry."
Hand in hand they approached the front desk like a trope.
One of love and cliches with words like "swagtastic" and "bae."
And as they did this they knew it would be their last day.
The last day of Jamarkus, at least Jamarkus with a K.
For the change that he made is an odd one to say.
And it's an odd one to be from what I can see,
As Jamarkus with a K became Jamarcus with a C.
At the end of the story Jamarkus lived a great life.
Sure it was crazy, and one filled with strife,
But Georgette and Jamarkus, they made a great team,
and, side by side they created per diem
a trick to bemuse and a tale to amaze.
And together they built it, completely unphased.
It was about  two wacky characters
who lived wacky lives.
They didn't have the same dreams or even same drives.
But they did it and it worked out quite perfectly.
It was a tale about a porpoise and his life in Absurdity.

My teacher told me I could write a poem about anything I wanted.
