Street Lights

The street lights irradiate in through my frozen blinds warming my skin; all I feel is a wave of emotions invade my sheets at the thought of the light being your eyes. Of course you are not here, but I still see you. Please don’t be like the rest of them and call me crazy because I can still feel your benevolent smile and your sincere love, touching my beating heart. But sometimes the street lights didn’t shine on my block, I felt lonely, but don't worry the moon was still keeping me from tossing and turning all night when you were gone. But before yo… you went on permanent vacation, everyone told me that you were just out to hurt me and that I was just another one of your ‘experiments’. Maybe that’s why the street lights stopped shining because I was just another ‘experiment’, but still I didn’t believe that though. I knew that you loved me, you told me everyday, you told me that you loved me more than you loved yourself, but I guess that all changed when you took your final illuminated street home.
