Looking up, tapping feet,
Melodies playing in my mind
Listening happily, smiling with glee
Feeling every note inside of me
I cannot control the feeling I have
Of complete fascination
Wishing to be up there, singing along
I can’t sit still or quietly too long
My favorite artists go on and off stage
I watch and wish to join them soon
Love and hate, truth and fear
Sung so beautifully, sound so unique
All forms of expression, in silence and sound
One goes up, my eyes never leave them
My heart flutters rapidly,
I avert my eyes from theirs,
The songs’ images flow through my mind,
I cannot contain my joy,
My face tries to hide it,
But my soul sings along,
Strings being strum so effortlessly,
There’s no doubt in my mind,
This is where I belong.
