If beauty is everything,
Then tell me,
Why do I not feel my beauty?
Is it because my nose is bigger than the average person?
Or maybe because I squint when I smile?
If beauty is everything,
Then tell me,
Why do I not aim to be beautiful?
Is it because I don't want people to look at me?
Or is it because I don't try to impress people with my looks?
If beauty is everything,
Then tell me,
Why do people still like me even without beauty?
Is it because beauty is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and a pretty soul?
Or is it because beauty is a light in the heart?
If beauty is everything,
Then tell me,
Why is beauty in the eye of the beholder?
Because if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, may I borrow your eye?
No. There is no need for that.
So if beauty is everything,
Then tell me,
What is beauty?
Beauty is truth's smile when she beholds her own face in a perfect mirror.
Beauty is who you are.
The inside, not the outside.
So what really is beauty?
Personality. Truth. Love.
Passion. A smile. A laugh.
Beauty is not everything.
Beauty is overrated.

I wrote this piece as a part of a Noble Truths project for my Creative Writing class back in October, and I feel like it really shows who I am.
