What you allow will continue.

She fought demons, she slayed a dragon
She dragged in meadows of dead flowers,
and still found the strength to dance
I watched her flood the floors with crystal blue tears,
watched her form oceans of sadness,
but she swam in them, she stayed afloat
Despite the sharks that wanted to eat her alive,
she lived

So young, I saw her die, emotionally her mind left
and spiritually her soul faded away
but she stood up when her legs were broken and her heart was smashed
She smiled at us when her mouth was shaking and her eyes were river dams
She held my hand when her fingers were shattered,
and when her words were liquid, she still found ways to talk
She felt like bronze, but to us she is golden

They yelled at her, she yelled back
They punched, she hit ten times harder,
I didn't think the broken could fight,
but I was wrong
I didn't think the weak could hold themselves up
but she walked like she was on stilts
She turned having nothing into the coolest thing,
how she managed to never back down is a mystery to me
Some magician she is, some wizard she to be

and when he left,
when we sat, so confused,
Not once did she feed us lies,
not once did she perish our questions
She only held our hands, with her healed fingers
She spoke to us with solid words,
and it was our turn to cry
When we flooded our floors with crystal blue tears,
she carried us to shore on her back
When we fell in the dead flower meadows,
she planted roses to assure that good things can grow in fields so dead
and when we thought we couldn't make it any further,
we lived

We grew, I grew
I went from  losing hope,
to hope being all that I need
I went from drowning,
to swimming in my own sorrows
I plant roses in fields of darkness
because that's what she told me to do
and I am here, in one piece, I survived
Just like she promised I would

She fought demons,
I watched her slay the same dragon for so many years,
She danced when there was no music,
she smiled when she was broken
and she laughed when she was down
she carried us to the shore
and just when I thought she couldn't go another step
she ran a thousand more miles

She didn't even have a sword,
but she battled through Hell like she had done it before,
but she hadn't
No one gave her a warning
but she slayed him like she had no fear
I am the the child of a warrior
She battled with a broken heart
and she lived

They doubted her, she didn't care
No one handed her a cape,
and told her to save the world
She's only one person
but in my eyes, she saved my world
Capes were never her thing anyways,
she likes sweaters

She fought demons, she slayed a dragon
She battled through Hell and came up without a scratch
If you think mothers don't go through a lot, you should come meet mine
because she battled a dragon and won,
she swam through sharks, and lived

and now I sleep in a fields of roses,
bathing in her sunshine
