Crisp, frozen air and snow covered grounds.
White beasts sluggishly tread
onto icebergs comfortably fitting four.
Tuxedo walking birds squawk
about mighty crustaceans they’re about to receive.
Each cozy down for the night
next to iced, numbing waters, fearless and content.

Moist, chilled air and slush covered grounds.
White beasts frantically seek out
icebergs to comfortably hold their young.
Tuxedo walking birds silently huddle,
peering into the waters for one crustacean to munch.
Each cozy down for the night
hungry, scared, and helpless.

Those slush covered grounds no longer
support the white beasts.
Icebergs astray in the blue water horizon.
The tuxedo walking birds cannot survive
off the scarce crustaceans afloat.
Now only a few cozy down for the night
missing their friends and sacrificing for their young.

White beasts will vanish, as well as the  tuxedo walking birds.
Too ignorant, too selfish, too oblivious.
A problem with a future not too bright.
The cry for help--evident, vital.
Teams of warm hearts sacrifice for desperate lives.
More help is needed, so join the fight for
crisp, frozen air and snow covered grounds.
