What a broken heart is like

Maybe,
maybe it's like a scratched CD
the music stays the same
-it never changed
but he never quite took care of it well
the sractches and marks
kept on coming.
Maybe,
maybe he just didnt realize
that with each scratch that was made
ruined the CD
maybe he didnt realize
that the CD would sometimes repeat itself
just to let him hear it a little longer
maybe he didnt realize
that each time
the song would skip a little further
until there was nothing left to hear
and just like that,
that CD
-her heart,
just quietly stopped
