The Nature of Beauty
Winding towards the clouds
Blossoming, unfolding
Creating a land of promise, hope
A land of color, of beauty, and of growth
Reaching for the endless flecks of silvery light
High above
Delicate petals
Spiny leaves
And sturdy branches
Bursting with life
And a quiet strength
Towering structures of rock, lightly brushed with a deep lilac
Stark against a backdrop of
Silver, and the deepest blue
Endlessly watching
Rolling worlds of blue green water
Encrusted with shimmering white foam
Scattered with fins
And the lives of iridescent scales
A glittering shower of downy ice
Falling with barely a whisper
Soon to disappear, melt away
With a single glance of the sun
A world full of promise, hope
A glowing land blooming with life
That withers
And renews

This poem was inspired by the prayer Ma'ariv Aravim, and Jewish prayer thanking G-d for the simple beauty of nature.
