I think the ground beneath my feet was trying to tell me something earlier today.
I felt it tremble, and all seemed array.
The ground pulled me down below,
I felt the gravel encase me so,
I stopped fighting to escape.
It was far too late.

Down in a spiral, I did go.
To which I did not know,
Whether I'd see the surface again.
But I worried not,
Because I soon fell upon a hidden glen.

The water refreshed me.
I felt more thirsty than I've ever been,
And when I tried to leave, it charged me a fee.
A fee I couldn't pay, and an argument I couldn't win.

The ground shook once more.
It shot me up,
To the surface,
I went.
The ground felt colder than its ever been before.
So much so that I couldn't help but implore.
But the ground remained silent,
And we were strangers once more.
