Night Terrors
Night terrors
Clock strikes midnight
Scratching in the walls
Creaking footsteps
Everywhere but nowhere
Red claret slowly oozing menacingly down the mirror
Darkness is consuming
Flashlights nowhere to be found
Cackles envelope the science
She stands in the corner
Watching you sleep
Her lank, limp hair dangling at her sides
The red obscuring most of her plain nightgown
The terror making you thrash trepidatiously,
The thumps erupting from your chest
Trying to scream
But nothing comes out
I read a book, The Nightmarys by Jon Poblocki, and I loved the plot and the topc, so I decided to write a poem capturing the same essence.
