I walk aimlessly
Following the commands of an unknown voice
Trapped within words and lines
I meet extraordinary creatures:
winged beasts, colorful sea animals, anything
they seem oblivious to our imprisonment
I see faces that peer down at me and the other creatures
they stare, occasionally laughing or crying
I continue acting out my part, not being able to stop
And then, everything goes dark.
I try to move but I seem restrained by an invisible force
and then I realize
I’m trapped,
inside the pages of a book.
And there is no way out.
