Red and green
God blessed and heaven sent
rock hard callouses earned with
stinging fingers from lacing
that doesn’t belong on a dress.
Something indescribable:
a dew so sweet fills my lungs
and a high from the scent of the prize
Pop!
Ayee, nice pitch atta kiiiiiid
Crack!
Atta babyyy base knock just what we need!!
Grit. Pure Grit.
Spitting out the grains with a smile
remembering the athletic feat that
earned the mouth full of dirt.
