Technology
We’re in the car,
driving to a party,
we’re with our friends,
what are we doing?
We’re on our phones.
At a fair grounds,
on the Ferris wheel,
the view is breathtaking
what are we doing?
We’re on our phones.
Do we really enjoy each other anymore?
“Where did you two meet?”
“Online, we texted for months before seeing each other.”
Is this the story we want our children to hear?
That we were always,
on our phones?
Watching a movie,
popcorn is so good it ate itself,
being cuddled by blankets.
What are we doing?
We’re on our phones.
Technology is here,
it’s not going to leave,
but to live off of it?
This hardly seems right.
We spend most our day,
texting, posting, and “DM ing” online,
the world is slipping through our fingers.
We can hardly tell one day from the next.
With Netflix and Hulu,
Who needs to read a book?
We’ve got our phones
and it seems to be enough.
We cannot go on living like this,
we simply must stop.
Put down the phones,
Look up, and talk.
Read a good book,
Go for a walk.
Hike with a friend
And don’t bring your phone.
It is as easy as that,
Who knows what you’ll find?
When you live without constant technology,
the world is divine.
