The warmth fills you up,
the euphoric feeling of that pleasant
summer breeze you've grown so accustomed to.
The repetitive pattern of the ocean
you have adopted into your own life.
The waves crash in,
reality checks out.
Glossy eyes avoid making contact
with the fall that is about to come.
As the time ticks on, you try to hold on to the high
of those summer days.
But the fall has already come. And you are left
suffering through the cold winter alone.
Longing to feel the intoxication of those summer days again
