I spoon into my mind
the buttery familiarness
of my favorite book.
Warmth spreads
from my head to my toes.
Joy wafts into my heart,
like aromas through my nose.
The story is smooth,
creamy, and fluffy.
It tickles my taste buds
like an old friend saying hello.
Devouring the steaming bowl
of salty words and phrases,
I am reminded of home.
Sitting at my kitchen table,
eating mashed potatoes.
