A fire in my soul
That I don’t wish to burn out
This feeling has eluded me for so long
and it slips away again

So many times it came into my life
and so many times it left
suddenly;without a trace
never to return

The fire in my heart
quickly turns to ash
but rises again like the phoenix
only to be struck down again

This thumping in my chest
grows faster and faster
with every passing second
my heart is racing;I've felt this feeling before
at this point it means nothing to me
it all comes and goes
at this point I feel my fantasy
will never come true
the phoenix is dead
and it won’t wake back up
