The gray is comforting,
the darkness hugs gently.
The pain ebbs as I
start to dream.
Wistfully
I begin to drift,
like laying in a boat.
each wave pulls
me closer
to sleep.
Sleep.
Sleep is
all I want.
The thoughts
become  a haze
the fog soothes
me. what time
do I need
to be up
for work?
What is it
like to go sailing?
I have to remember
the lacrosse drills.
Could I run away
to the ocean?
Will I bow
to God or
hug Him?
How long will
my mind be dark
and cloudy? A mental
overcast. Do they
understand
there is
no simple
fix? No switch?
How long will sleep
keep the depression
at bay? The gray is comforting,
darkness hugs gently.
