"Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies."

At least,

that's what Aristotle says.

At first, I thought

this was perfect:

an age-old quote

to explain us.

But just as I can see you

typing away

the lyrics that follow

"how to explain"

as I ask myself that question,

I can hear you

frustrated

when people talk of their "other half,"

and I realize

we are two bodies

and two souls.

We are whole:

seperate entities.

Not brought together

because we are each other's missing game pieces;

instead,

brought together

because we are each other's expansion packs.

You remind me

I am my own person,

just as you are your own.

We do not define each other.

We do not share a soul.

If anything,

we are soul twins

because even identical sets

are different.
