Everyone has a mask

Everyone is different

And, everyone has a lie

My story is different

My story is sad,

My life is a lie

No one knows but me.

My story, lie, mask

Is all about trust,

My life, and how differently bad it is

The reason I am who I am

It's my dad, and my mom splitting

It's my mask with a painted smile

It's my trust who I cannot give anyone

It's why I'm so concealed

My lie is about me being happy

About me having a "great" life

About me having "best" friends

About me being able to be who I am

When really, I hide,

I hide in a shell like a scared little turtle

I dont have a "great" life

I don't have the "best" friends,

I have a lie

I have beautiful lies

Which I want to get rid of,

I just want to have a real and happy life

Is that too much to ask?
