Poets
God gave me a gift.
Yes
Its true.
But god gave me a burden.
Yes
That's just as true.
A gift to see the wonders
To see the words
A burden to see the horrors
the pain.
What most people don't realize
Is that poetry is a dangerous thing
It can be used as a tool
A weapon
It can touch your soul
like nothing else can
it can make you happy
Like nothing else can
or it can make you doubt
everything you've ever beleived in.

What inspired me to write this piece was getting cancer when I was ten years old. I beleive the reason that I went through all of the suffering was to write poems about my experience that helped others. After I had cancer, words just came so easily at certain times. I usually don't like to go too deep into the meanings of my poems though, because I beleive poems are for other people to decide meanings for.
I truely do hope other poets and readers can apply this to their lives.
