There no longer was any distinct between rich and poor, notables and the others; we were all people condemned to the same fate—still unknown.

I lie awake at 2 in the morning,

missing you like grass misses rain.

I lie awake at 4 in the morning,

thinking about you like Einsein thought about everything.

I lie awake at 6 in the morning,

dreading to get up and have to see you happy without me.

I lie awake at 8 in the morning,

trying to focus on what's important, school.

I lie awake at 10 in the morning,

watching, waiting for you to come into class.

I lie awake at 12 in the afternoon,

loving, admiring your magnificent smile while laughing.

I lie awake at 2 in the afternoon,

praying to go home and not cry.

I lie awake at 4 in the afternoon,

doing homework, trying to stop the feelings.

I lie awake at 6 in the afternoon,

covering my head with a pillow, waiting for the tears to come.

I lie awake at 8 at night,

too sick to eat, talk, even breathe.

I lie awake at 10 at night,

staring at the ceiling and wishing you were next to me.

I lie awake at 12 in the morning,

stressing about every little thing I did wrong and how I wasn't good enough for you.

I lie awake at 2 in the morning,

pleading this will stop soon.
