A Child’s Dream
A fleck of white
then another
then another
drifts down down down
She runs outside
Well worn mittens cover tiny hands
Tufts of brown strands peak out beneath a red knit
A blooming pink spreads across the planes of her face
Breaths of cold air she puffs out
Laughing with glee, eyes close
As her tongue catches
The diamonds of winter
She is lost in white
