Loss.
it hurts to remember
crying at the edge of a 6 foot hole
surrounded by people you've never met
in a country classified as your own
in a place you are supposed to call home
it hurts to remember
how life is so futile and
how fate can be so callous
how memories can replay themselves over and over
frustrated, depressed, hopeless
you've reached the edge of your sanity
trying to block it all out and all you can hear is
"don't forget to remember me"
seeing his face plastered against your otherwise empty wall
you stare at the picture everyday
because it hurts to remember
but you can't let yourself forget.
