Before You Dream of Me Tonight
Before you dream of me tonight, you must know this,
I am hurt.
If I am hurt once more I may not love again.
My love was once like a star burning bright for all to see,
but like most stars I went Supernova.
Creating the destruction of many, including myself.
My love burned, erupted, and extinguished.
My heart has frozen itself to be protected from being hurt.
My spiderweb veins are cracking under the pressure of the slush it holds
My dreams, my thoughts, my nightmares all stand still
Everything is still.
From my frozen heart, to my frostbitten breath
It can only be thawed by the warmth of love.
Dream of thawing me.
